With its monopoly-like position in the information sector, through the market leaders Apfel TV, Apfelradio and the Apfelzeitung, the advertising campaign was so successful that a real round-ball hysteria was initiated worldwide. The few sensible round pear deniers were eliminated in concerted defamation campaigns, and the round pear was subsequently pushed into probably the most successful product in human history.

Inspired by the overwhelming success of his coup, the apple mogul diversified his campaign with another complementary product, the round pear mask to deepen the taste experience.
